Dan Sullivan

Dan Sullivan, CFP®

Founder & Owner | Financial Advisor

Dan is passionate about empowering clients to make better financial decisions through education and a well-thought-out financial strategy for retirement.

Before joining the financial services industry, Dan spent several years in various outdoor recreation jobs. Realizing he needed to pursue a more lucrative career path, he spent five years as a business development director. In 2014, he became an insurance and financial professional to help clients develop a better understanding of Medicare, life insurance, and protecting their retirement savings. His focus on an education-based approach to retirement is designed to help clients craft a financial strategy that helps them to enjoy their retirement lifestyle to its fullest potential.

Dan is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and also holds annuity, health and life insurance licenses. He graduated from the University of Montana, earned his master's degree from the State University of New York and completed the Kaplan Graduate Studies College for Financial Planning program.

10 Things You Didn't Know About Dan

  • 1 Dan is one of six children, and he once gave his brother a black eye by throwing a coconut at him.
  • 2 Dan used to teach wilderness survival skills in Idaho. As a graduate student, he taught single credit courses to undergrads in canoeing, rock climbing, backpacking and winter camping.
  • 3 At 23, Dan traveled to Ireland on a one-way ticket with no real plan and only $500 to his name. He lasted four months.
  • 4 Dan loves to play golf with his dad. He also plays flag football with other dads from church who were once in good shape.
  • 5 Dan plays the guitar, mandolin and Irish bouzouki, which his youngest daughter calls “the zucchini.”
  • 6 Dan spent a summer working on a ranch mostly riding half-broke horses. He busted his shoulder being thrown.
  • 7 Dan was once a certified arborist and professional tree climber.
  • 8 Dan married into Pittsburgh Steelers season tickets and tries to get to at least one game every year.
  • 9 Dan has climbed the tallest peak in many western states, a few eastern states, and Texas and Arkansas.
  • 10 Dan spent five years in New York training and certifying volunteer youth sports coaches.
